Hormone Therapy Medical Firm Changes Ownership, Name

By Staff Reports, posted Jul 25, 2022
BioSymmetry, a Wilmington medical firm providing hormone therapy, is changing hands with the retirement of founder Chris Pate from the local office, according to a press release.

The firm, renamed BioSymmetry Wilmington, is now owned by Allen Holmes and Deb Read, who serves as the office manager and lead nurse. The office is located at 265 Racine Drive.

Pate opened the Wilmington office in 2014 after having success at its first office in Goldsboro. BioSymmetry has been providing bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and weight loss solutions. Pate will continue to run the Goldsboro office and his primary care office, Western Wayne Medical Center, also located in Goldsboro.

Holmes is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 15 years of experience in patient care. He graduated from Marshall University and completed his residency at East Carolina University.

“Treating diseases in their end stage prompted his desire to prevent such end-stage disease. He has a deep interest in bioidentical hormone optimization, obesity medicine, and peptide therapy,” the release stated.

Read is a bioidentical hormone specialist, nurse and weight loss coach who will continue to work with the patients at BioSymmety.

“Our new slogan and motto is ‘Life Optimized,’” she said in the press release. “When you begin to look at lab work in a different way and get patients into their optimal range, rather than the desired range, they start to feel better overall.”

BioSymmetry Wilmington also offers a range of aesthetic services administered by a nurse injector and nurse practitioner, the MonaLisa Touch, SculpSure, peptide therapy and medical weight loss.

Under new leadership, BioSymmetry Wilmington will have expanded hours of operation and will offer new aesthetic services.
