NHRMC Recognized For Patient Experience

By Staff Reports, posted Jun 7, 2019
New Hanover Regional Medical Center was recognized for its patient experience through the Healthgrades 2019 Outstanding Patient Experience Award, according to a news release.

“This award is an acknowledgment of the excellent care our teams provide every day,” John Gizdic, NHRMC’s president CEO, said in the release.

Healthgrades, an online resource for information on physicians and hospitals, evaluated 3,449 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys covering admissions from January to December 2017.

Survey questions included cleanliness, noise, physician and nurse communication and whether the patient would recommend the hospital to friends and family.

This is the eighth year NHRMC has been recognized by Healthgrades.

“These awards are driven directly by patients’ feedback, giving them a voice in helping to improve the hospital experience while also helping other consumers make more informed healthcare decisions,” Brad Bowman, chief medical officer with Healthgrades, said in the release.
