The agenda for New Hanover County’s technical review committee meeting Wednesday includes a variety of projects, from self-storage to duplexes.
Cecil Worsley III, president of Springer Eubank Co. Inc., is the applicant on a commercial site plan that proposes a travel center on 12 acres. According to agenda documents, the project at 3201 U.S. 421 North is expected to include fueling stations and a convenience store, along with drive-thru fast-food restaurants.
Another item on the county TRC agenda is a nearly 140,000-square-foot, four-story Bee Safe self-storage project by CIP Construction Co. The project will be located on about 3 acres at 8138 Market St. According to agenda documents, 98,000 square feet will be rentable storage area. Bee Safe Storage was founded by Greensboro-based The Carroll Companies, the firm planning The Avenue mixed-use project on Military Cutoff Road.
Additional items expected to be discussed by the committee Wednesday are:
- Single-family subdivision Sea Lilly consisting of nine lots on nearly nine acres at 7422 Sea Lilly Lane.
- A nearly 5,000-square-foot warehouse planned on an existing commercial site. The property at 2019 Capital Drive, Unit 3, consists of 1.52 acres.
- Recreational vehicle sales site for Rex & Sons RV at 5625 Barbados Blvd. on nearly 7 acres. Agenda documents state, "The site and adjoining properties are zoned B‐2 and are in the Island Park planned commercial subdivision. Proposed improvements are consistent with this zoning and includes 24,000 sqft of general office space to be utilized as a recreational vehicle sales facility. The proposed building and drainage facilities are situated to allow for the future subdivision of the property."
- A sketch plan review for Seabreeze developments of a subdivision with 30 lots across 7.11 acres and 24 duplex structures across 3.56 acres.
Of the Seabreeze projects, the agenda documents state, “These concept plans are associated with a possible conditional rezoning that would be presented before the Planning Board at their September meeting, if a completed rezoning application is submitted by our office’s August 1st deadline.”
