MegaCorp Logistics Ranks On Entrepreneur 360 List

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Oct 1, 2019
MegaCorp Logistics LLC ranked as one of the most successful entrepreneurial companies in America on an Entrepreneur Magazine list.

MegaCorp placed as No. 16 in Entrepreneur 360, making it the third year in a row the Wilmington-based logistics firm has made the list. It ranked No. 25 in 2018 and No. 56 in 2017.

This is the fifth year Entrepreneur Magazine has conducted the ranking, which is a 360-degree analysis of United States-based companies "designed to identify the real leaders among entrepreneurs," according to the publication.

The system "uses quantitative and qualitative info by looking at your hard numbers as well as 'soft' determinants such as impact, innovation and leadership," the list states.

Firms on the list were identified “based on the results from a comprehensive study of independently owned companies, using a proprietary algorithm and other advanced analytics,” stated a news release.

That algorithm was built on a scorecard that measured five entrepreneurial metrics: innovation, growth, leadership, impact and business valuation, stated the release. The system ranked 360 companies.

MegaCorp attributes its growth to the leadership and direction of the firm's CEO, Ryan Legg, and its family-like work culture.

“I am grateful that MegaCorp is recognized on such a diverse and prestigious list. This award is the result of the hard work and dedication of each and every team member here at MegaCorp," Legg said in an email.

The company, which moved into its new headquarters at 1011 Ashes Drive in April, has 205 employees in Wilmington and 320 nationwide, according to numbers provided by the firm.

In August, MegaCorp was one of several area firms that made the Inc. 5000 list, a national ranking of the top 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies by Inc. Magazine.

On Entrepreneur's list, MegaCorp was the only Wilmington-based business. Hillsborough-based PHE Inc., which ranked No. 2, was the only North Carolina company that placed higher than MegaCorp.

Other North Carolina companies that made the list include Transportation Impact in Emerald Isle; Confianz Global Inc. in Charlotte; Jackrabbit Technologies in Huntersville; Reunion Marketing in Raleigh; and Cloud for Good in Asheville.
