Wilmington-based nCino continues its worldwide expansion with the recent opening of two entities, one in Spain and another in France, according to a press release.

These two new locations for the cloud banking software company strengthen its presence in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and helps advance the digitization of banks in those regions, the release stated.

This news comes a few weeks after nCino announced it was boosting its European presence with the appointment of Jennifer Geary as general manager of EMEA and the establishment of an entity in Germany.

One motivating factor for expansion in the EMEA is the increase in number of people using digital banking in those regions since the start of the pandemic.

“This has left financial institutions (FIs) racing to deliver tailored digital experiences,” the release stated.

“We’re excited about our progress in EMEA and the work being done within the nCino platform to further localize it for specific regions,” Tom Byrne, head of product at nCino, EMEA said in the release. “By reinvesting approximately 26% of our FY21 revenues back into research and development, we’ve been able to build market-leading solutions for multiple countries across Europe.”

Such solutions include smart automation across loan origination, client onboarding and account opening processes, among other features. The fintech company has also invested in hiring local product development teams in those countries to provide localized solutions to financial institutions.

Over the past year, nCino has also increased its employees by about 50% across sales, marketing and product development, according to the release. Last year, the company announced an expansion to its headquarters that would allow it to add 600 employees.

Spain and France join the company’s other international hubs including its EMEA center in London, and presence in Germany, Sydney, Toronto, Tokyo and U.S. offices in Salt Lake City and Wilmington.

“As we look ahead, we know how important it is for us to understand and embrace the particularities of the markets we operate in, and we look forward to having nCino become even more known and recognized in EMEA through the success and value we deliver to customers,” Geary said in the release.
