To allow banking consumers to open checking and savings accounts virtually, Wilmington-based Apiture has partnered with MeridianLink, a digital account opening and loan origination software, according to a press release.
MeridianLink Opening solution will integrate with the Apiture Xpress digital banking system, allowing Apiture’s bank and credit union clients to offer a digital account opening solution to members.
With this partnership, Apiture continues to add service offerings to its Apiture Xpress platform and deliver a solution to consumers who are increasingly relying on online channels to create new accounts instead of going to branch locations in person, according to the release.
The MeridianLink Opening platform allows consumers to open and fund accounts including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, HSAs, minor accounts and small business accounts from an online or mobile device.
The growing popularity of online banking is influencing banks and credit unions to look for more digital solutions, according to the release.
“Our partnership with MeridianLink extends an exciting opportunity for Apiture’s clients to offer digital account opening to their communities,” Chris Cox, chief operating officer and general manager of Apiture Xpress, said in a press release. “We’ve watched firsthand as digital adoption has increased dramatically across the industry. It is more important than ever for Apiture to offer our clients choice when it comes to digital capabilities like digital account opening.”
Financial institutions that have the ability to onboard consumers digitally will maintain a competitive edge in attracting new users, the release stated.
This partnership is a result of Apiture’s continued effort to form relationships with partners that enhance its service offerings. This includes a partnership announced in October with Glia to provide a digital-first customer support platform. In April,
Apiture also partnered with the peer-to-peer payment service Zelle to provide a high-speed payment solution through Xpress.
California-headquartered MeridianLink provides cloud-based software solutions for financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders, specialty lending providers and consumer reporting agencies.
“MeridianLink’s partnership with Apiture underscores the importance of digital account opening to community and regional banks and credit unions,” Charlie Lee, chief marketing officer of MeridianLink said in the release. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer the MeridianLink platform to Apiture’s customer base, providing a new revenue channel to the hundreds of institutions that they serve.”
