A mortgage company that moved its headquarters to Wilmington is already heading to a larger office, according to a news release Thursday.

SeaTrust Mortgage Co., a subsidiary of Community First Bank, is relocating from 1508 Military Cutoff Road, Suite 203, to 1001 Military Cutoff Road, Suite 350, the release stated.

The new office space is about 5,000 square feet, which makes it nearly three times larger than the previous office, and it will house more than 40 employees.

The new facility will provide SeaTrust staff with room to grow, according to the release.

“This move represents another significant milestone for our fast-growing mortgage company," said John Owens, president of SeaTrust Mortgage Co., in the release. "The new office space better accommodates our growing team and enables us to hire additional talent to continue providing industry-leading support and services to our clients.

It will also "help drive innovation and provide further opportunity for expansion into additional markets, product lines, and services,” he said.

According to the release, the facility will feature technology-enabled conference rooms and stations for teams to collaborate with colleagues, customers and other partners

SeaTrust Mortgage Co. announced plans in August 2019 to bring about 100 jobs to Wilmington by 2021.

“We are on track to hit our growth targets. We’ve been very intentional in regard to rolling out our new technology while stress-testing it within our culture," Owens said in the release. "The market has responded strongly to our goal of enhancing the lifestyle of our customers and employees by creating a communal culture and stress-free mortgage process.”
