Two veteran financial advisors in Wilmington are now leading their own firm.
Mark Nabell and Scott Winslow, formerly of First Citizens Bank’s Private Wealth Management division, have formed Nabell Winslow Investments and Wealth Management. The firm’s offices opened officially Sept. 30.
Nabell Winslow moved into a 2,400-square-foot office suite at 1612 Military Cutoff Road. The leasing agent was Carlton Fisher, of Coastal Realty Co. Sweyer & Associates owns the building and represented itself in the transaction.
Nabell, an industrial engineering graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, specifically in helping clients with retirement income planning and advanced planning, according to his firm’s website. He holds a number of securities registrations and has life, accident and health insurance licenses.
Winslow, who has been in the financial services industry since 1996, began his career at Jefferson Pilot, according to his firm’s website. He moved to GE Financial and then to First Citizens Bank, where he was the senior vice president of wealth strategies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Mount Olive College. Like Nabell, he holds a number of securities registrations and licenses in life, accident and health insurance.
Also joining the new firm from First Citizens are Patty Johnson, operations manager, and Tammi Gates, scheduling manager.
The two advisors are affiliated with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, which gives its affiliates back office tools, while, say the new partners, leaving them free to offer unbiased advice. Cetera provides such support as technology and access to investment research from the country’s major firms, according to Nabell.
“Having our own firm allows us to deliver on promises we’ve made to our clients,” Winslow said. “A lot of big investment institutions put [clients’] money into their own products. We want to sit on the same side of the table as our clients, protecting them.”
Nabell said that the firm serves all kinds of clients, but the majority are retirees or pre-retirees, high-income professionals or business owners and entrepreneurs.
