Two Wilmington-based businesses were honored by the Better Business Bureau serving the eastern Carolinas at the 2025 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics.

The awards ceremony was held April 30 at the Marbles IMAX in Raleigh. The awards "celebrate companies that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to ethical business practices, transparency, and community engagement," according to a news release.

Patriot Roofing & Exteriors was named one of two finalists in the Mid-Size Business category, while Cape Fear Solar Systems was awarded winner in the Large Business category.

Stephanie Bolton, owner of Patriot Roofing & Exteriors, stated in the release, “Being named a finalist for the BBB Torch Award is a tremendous honor. It reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to serving our community with honesty and integrity. We believe that doing the right thing isn’t just good business – it’s the foundation of lasting relationships and community trust.”
