The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina (BGCSENC) promoted Shanrieka Freeman-Cooper to vice president of operations, according to a news release.
With nearly 13 years of dedicated service in various leadership roles at Boys & Girls Clubs, Freeman-Cooper "has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s impact for local youth families," the release stated.
In her new role, Freeman-Cooper will oversee program model planning, implementation, compliance and evaluation across all BGCSENC Clubs and sites in the organization's five-county region, according to the release. She will supervise service delivery and lead community collaborations, membership recruitment and retention strategies.
"We are incredibly thankful for Shanrieka’s leadership and dedication to our mission," said Dawn-Michele Blalock, CEO of BGCSENC, in the release. "She has grown within our organization and taken our clubs in an amazing direction. In this new role, we know she will centralize and enhance our operations, ensuring that every young person we serve has access to high-quality programs and opportunities for success."
Freeman-Cooper previously served as youth center director, regional program director and regional director of operations.
According to the release, "Her passion for creating safe, supportive, and enriching environments has positively impacted countless children and teens across Brunswick, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties."
