Helen Stukenborg
Cameron Art Museum recently welcomed Helen Stukenborg to the role of director of annual giving and special events.

Stukenborg joins the growing development department and will report directly to Executive Director Heather Wilson, according to a news release.

Before joining CAM, Stukenborg was the membership and annual giving manager with the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) for several years.

"That experience helped to hone and shape her skills in nonprofit management and cultural philanthropy," the release stated. "Helen brings her proven track record in fundraising, event planning and building impactful community partnerships to the Cameron Art Museum."

She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from N.C. State University and spent several years working for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science as a member of their development team.

“I am excited to be back in Wilmington, surrounded by incredible works of art," Stukenborg stated. "The commitment to the community was a major factor in my decision to work at Cameron Art Museum. Coupled with a caring and capable staff, this environment could not have been a better fit. I look forward to continuing to enhance the impact of CAM.”

Wilson stated in the release, “Helen’s development experience, combined with her love of and knowledge of art will be of great benefit to our museum and the community."
