Two Cape Fear Realtors members were selected for awards at the NC Realtors 2024 Convention and Expo, held in Wilmington last week.

Lynn Harris was recognized as the 2024 NC Realtor of the Year, and Guy McCook received the Region 2 Regional Service Award, according to a CFR news release.

The Realtor of the Year honor is awarded annually to an NCR member "who has rendered the most outstanding service to the North Carolina Association of Realtors within the past year. Harris is a professional member of the real estate community and has held many leadership positions with both the local and state Realtor associations. With over 24 years of committee service to CFR and NCR, Harris has served on the CFR Finance Committee, Government Affairs Committee, Recruiting/Certifying Committee and Candidate Selection Task Force, to name a few," the release stated.

Currently, Harris is serving on the NCR Convention, commercial, and bylaws committees. Harris has been active in commercial real estate since 1997, has served as the RCASENC president and is a founding member of Cape Fear CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women).

The Region 2 Regional Service Award is presented to an NCR member "who is committed to contributing to their community and local, state, and national associations. McCook has provided continuous and extraordinary contributions to the betterment of his community through outstanding public service, while also remaining actively involved with CFR and NCR," according to the releaswe.

Amanda Parmer, president of CFR this year, stated in the release, “This recognition at the state level highlights our focus on creating pathways to prepare the leaders of tomorrow. Along with celebrating these award winners, this conference was a great way to share our coastal community with REALTORS® from all over NC.”
