CFCC Lauded For Marketing, Communication Efforts

Cape Fear Community College has been recognized for its marketing and communication efforts, winning three Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations, according to a news release.

The Medallion Awards are highly competitive and honor outstanding achievements in design and communication among community and technical colleges across the NCMPR's seven districts, the release stated. The regional competition is open exclusively to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges, according to the release.

CFCC received the following awards:

  • Gold Medallion for Social Media Page (YouTube): CFCC’s YouTube Page earned top honors for its growth, achieving a 669.35% increase in engagement in 2023 after the strategic incorporation of YouTube Shorts. "The channel has become a powerful platform for connecting with students, faculty, staff, and the community, offering informative and entertaining content about the college's programs, events, and students," the release stated.
  • Bronze Medallion for College Viewbook: The college's viewbook was recognized for its design and engaging presentation of CFCC's programs, services, and student opportunities. "The viewbook serves as a recruitment tool, providing prospective students with a comprehensive overview of CFCC’s offerings," according to the release.
  • Bronze Medallion for Social Media Post—Instagram Reel: An Instagram Reel featuring Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students’ inventive designs to improve patient accessibility garnered over 5.8 million views.
