The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce awarded 31 local businesses a Golden Pineapple Award at a ceremony sponsored by Corning Credit Union held at the chamber.

According to a news release, Golden Pineapple Awards are given quarterly to those businesses nominated by their customers for providing consistent and exceptional customer service. 

Winter 2024 Golden Pineapple award winners are:  

• Accommodations:  Better Beach Rentals and Sales, Margaret Rudd & Associates Inc. Realtors, Oak Island Accommodations and The River Hotel of Southport;
• Activities & Attractions: Southport Jazzercise and Throw Baxe Axe House and Board Game Lounge;
• Dining: Bald Head Coffee, Burney’s Bakery of Southport, Gourmet to Go A Catered Affair, Mo’s Wood Fired Kitchen and Tranquil Harbor Restaurant & Bar;  
• Nonprofit: Oak Island Senior Center & Gift Shop;  
• Professionals:  Michael L. Cahn MD, Coastline Insurance Associates of NC, Collins Insurance Agency, FinPoint Insurance Group, Hamilton Realty Group at eXp Realty, Hand Crafted Massage, Live Oak Med Spa, Margaret Rudd & Associates, Pinnacle Mortgage Corp. and Southern Realty Advantage;
• Retail: Burnishop.com, The Christmas House, Dunes Mercantile Gifts & Guitars, Island Spas & Pools, The Pearl and Uncorked by the Sea Wine Shop & Gallery;

Nominations for the next quarter will be taken until April 30 and nomination forms can be completed online.
