Crews, Womble Join Vestal Financial Group

By Staff Reports, posted Feb 27, 2024
Vestal Financial Group, financial advisors with D.A. Davidson & Co., recently announced the addition of two members to its Wilmington office at 1001 Military Cutoff Road.

They are Trust Officer William S. Crews III (pictured at right) of D.A. Davidson Trust Company and Michael H. Womble (pictured below) of D.A. Davidson Wealth Management.

Crews, formerly of Truist, joined the Wilmington office in December 2023 and has nearly 20 years of experience in estate and trust planning and administration.

Crews holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a master’s degree in trust and wealth management from Campbell University, as well as the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor and Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM designations. He serves on the American Bankers Associate Advisory Board for the CTFA designation.

Womble, a former partner of a North Carolina-based CPA firm, joined the team in January. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Pembroke. Womble has spent over 40 years in private and public accounting.

While in public accounting, Womble's primary service concentrations were tax, forensic, business valuation and litigation support services. In addition to being a non-practicing CPA, he maintains several designations related to business valuation and forensic accounting.

Vestal Financial Group, with a collective $1 billion in client assets, joined D.A. Davidson in October 2023. The team of eight, previously affiliated with Truist, has extensive experience in wealth management, investments and financial planning.

The group became D.A. Davidson’s fourth location in North Carolina following Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Andy Vestal and Matt Bryant lead the team as senior vice presidents, financial advisors and portfolio managers.
