Vick Promoted To Editorial Manager For UNCW University Relations

Krissy Vick has been promoted to editorial manager in UNCW's Office of University Relations.

Vick served as the media relations specialist at the University of North Carolina Wilmington since 2021, according to a news release. Her accomplishments have included developing articles to promote key initiatives, research and achievements; supporting the university's branding efforts; and expanding UNCW's outreach by developing and pitching coverage ideas to media outlets, the release stated.

Vick also served as interim content manager overseeing the fall 2023 edition of UNCW Magazine. Before joining UNCW, Vick served as the community relations specialist for Charlottesville City Schools, where she managed two annual publications, according to the release.

"Krissy has earned the respect of colleagues and community partners through her professionalism and commitment to excellence," said Molly McKeown, communications director, in the release. "I know she will help UNCW soar higher through the production of outstanding university publications and media coverage."

As the editorial manager, Vick will work with McKeown on "an overarching editorial strategy and streamline processes for successful implementation. She will also oversee content planning, production and editorial support for digital and print platforms to advance the university's strategic goals," the release stated. "In addition, Vick will collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated projects and manage the university's media relations activities, news media and publication strategies."

According to the release, Vick received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a concentration in broadcasting and an English minor in professional writing and language from Virginia Tech.
