Georgia Mastroieni has been named deputy director of operations at Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington.
Mastroieni, who joined the CAM staff in 2006, "has been instrumental in planning and implementing Cameron Art Museum’s youth and family programs – from Kids@CAM to Art Explorers to Kids@CAMp to Closing the Gap to Connections and CAM’s ArtReach programs," according to a news release.
Executive Director Heather Wilson stated in the release, “Mastroieni has led the museum’s Education Committee for many years, shepherding CAM’s relationships with over 30 community partners, including spearheading CAM’s accessibility initiatives.
"She is the chief liaison with local school systems and youth development organizations and leads community outreach to a variety of organizations – from Good Shepherd to the Wilmington Housing Authority. She is a compassionate and visionary leader who believes in the power of inclusivity, and this is articulated in her service to the community through Cameron Art Museum.”
In her new role, Mastroieni will concentrate on the visitor experience – from the front desk to CAM Café to tour guides to the museum shop, making sure to interweave our educational priorities and focus on accessibility in all the museum does.
