Cape Fear Community College recently received a 2022 Gold Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for the CFCC TikTok page (@capefearcc), according to a news release.

The 2022 Paragon Awards drew 1,726 entries from 232 colleges nationwide and was judged by more than 40 marketing and public relations professionals, the release stated.

“Cape Fear Community College works to meet our students where they are, so it is important for us to have a strong social media presence,” said Sonya Johnson, CFCC vice president of marketing and community relations, in the release. “Our marketing team tells authentic stories about our students and opportunities at CFCC. Our social media platforms provide a way for students to interact with the college and communicate with us comfortably and informally. I am so proud of what we have accomplished with social media, and I look forward to what our team will achieve going forward.”

NCMPR’s Paragon Awards "recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges. It’s the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relation professionals at two-year institutions," according to the release.
