Monica Shafer joined the law firm as case manager, bringing years of previous experience with insurance policies and claims, the release stated. Deborah “Debbie” Hill (pictured below) joined as office coordinator, bringing a decade of experience working for a large insurance defense firm. Both join the growing law practice at its Wilmington office, 6105 Oleander Drive.
Horton & Mendez opened in January 2021 and has established a client base throughout the tri-county region of southeastern North Carolina, in Jacksonville and in Robeson County.

At Horton & Mendez, she will help clients navigate the auto insurance claim process and assist attorneys with the firm’s active cases.
Hill assisted her prior firm with office management and administrative duties. At Horton & Mendez, she will be assisting the managing partners with office management.
