FOCUS Broadband, a communications provider serving areas of southeastern North Carolina, appointed Marcus Peterson  to the role of vice president of outside plant operations.

Keith Holden, FOCUS Broadband CEO, said Peterson “has been an outstanding leader in every role he has had, and his experience and knowledge make him an asset to our management team. I have great confidence in his ability to steer this vital part of our organization.”

Peterson has spent more than 23 years in the telecommunications industry and has worked with FOCUS Broadband for the past 16 years, serving in the roles of business development manager and director of operations services. In his time with FOCUS Broadband, Peterson has played a key role in implementing standards that have extended service and support hours, as well as help streamline and improve the customer experience, according to the release.

“I am looking forward to stepping into this leadership position,” Peterson said in the release. “Our team has consistently looked for ways we can improve and enhance the customer experience and that will continue to be my goal moving forward.”

The member-owned cooperative also announced that Alston Prince (pictured at right) has been promoted to the role of business solutions consultant. In this role, Prince will focus on partnering with local businesses to provide advanced voice and data solutions, a release stated.

Prince holds a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and has been with the company since 2020. Before coming to FOCUS Broadband, Prince worked in the hospitality and retail industry. His strong commercial background makes him suited to assess the needs of and craft solutions for Brunswick County businesses, the release stated.

“Alston is a great addition to our business sales team,” said Kris Ward, director of business development. “His experience here at FOCUS Broadband has allowed him to gain a strong understanding of our growing business offerings and will help us continue to serve local businesses with our business broadband, business voice, managed IT, cable TV and security services.”

Prince will be providing consulting, sales and support for businesses in Supply, Winnabow, Town Creek, Holden Beach, St. James and Boiling Spring Lakes.
