Wilmington-based Community Association Management Services (CAMS) recently announced that Community Manager Stefanie Hubble has been named regional director of its Brunswick County team.

Hubble joined the CAMS team in 2019 as a manager-in-training and, in that time, has quickly moved up in the company and obtained her CMCA and AMS credentials, according to a news release.

Before joining CAMS, Hubble worked as a homeowner representative for condominium associations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She has been a resident of Southport since 2016.

Hubble said in the release, “I’m excited to be able to continue helping the team thrive, assisting with solving any issues, encouraging them in reaching their own goals, building great relationships, and helping CAMS grow throughout Brunswick County.”

As regional director, Hubble will oversee community managers in Brunswick County, establish performance goals for her team, participate in marketing efforts and transition new clients into CAMS management.

“Over the past three years, Stefanie has established herself as a mentor to others and exemplifies our company’s core values,” said Deanna King, Brunswick County regional vice president, in the release. “She has grown into a leader and shown an avid faith in herself since entering the community management profession. I’m proud to promote Stefanie to Regional Director and work alongside her to grow our region.”

Recent certification announcements

CAMS also recently announced that employees have been obtained the designationf Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB).

They are Heather Doolittle, a community manager in the CAMS Wimington region, and Tanner Hayden, a community manager in its Brunswick County region.

To achieve this certification, candidates must pass the CMCA examination, a test that measures knowledge of community management best practices, according to a news release.

Doolittle has been in the community management industry since 2010 and, in that time, has managed a variety of communities, including mixed-use, commercial, single-family, condominiums and new developments. She joined the CAMS team in 2020 and is currently the on-site manager for an oceanfront condominium community in Kure Beach.

Hayden, a Wilmington native, has previously worked in property management, where he was responsible for a portfolio of commercial, residential and vacation rentals. He joined the CAMS team in May 2021.

The CAMMY Awards

In February, CAMS held its inaugural CAMMY Awards via Zoom.

The CAMMYs are geared toward recognizing the successes that CAMS, its team members and different regions achieved throughout 2021, according to a news release. Founder and co-owner Mike Stonestreet, co-owner Dave Sweyer, CEO Dave Orr, COO Cathy Wade and several other department heads announced award winners during the event.

The primary award, The CAMMY, was presented to Kami Carden, a leader of the Community Support Team, which serves all CAMS regions.

"In her time with the company, Kami has exhibited strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help wherever needed and do whatever it takes to get the job done," the release stated. CEO Dave Orr delivered her award to her home.

Just as with the beginning of the pandemic, CAMS quickly adjusted plans to fit a virtual platform.

These adjustments included creating virtual backgrounds to give the event a cohesive feeling, ensuring everyone’s technology was working correctly, and confirming all presenters knew when it was their turn to speak since everyone was in a different location. In addition, since the onset of the pandemic, all CAMS employees have gained experience working remotely and have become experts at participating in virtual events, making the venue change [because of rising COVID invfection numbers at the time] go that much more smoothly."

In addition to The CAMMY award, several other awards were given out to both individuals and regions CAMS serves. The Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina, regions were recognized for outstanding customer service and overall growth. Individual awards were given to Heather Doolittle in the Wilmington region and Danielle Smith in the Charleston region. Doolittle and Smith were recognized for completing the most training courses and earning the most industry credentials in a short time, respectively.

The CAMMY Awards will be held annually, with the next event planned for early 2023.
