The University of North Carolina Wilmington named Gino Galutera as the school’s director of auxiliary services.

Galutera’s appointment, which follows a national search, starts Sept. 13, according to a news release.

The university department has oversight of Campus Dining, the UNCW Bookstore, parking, transportation and One Card Office, the release stated.

Galutera most recently served as managing director of auxiliary services for Brandeis University in Massachusetts. Before that, he worked at The Citadel, where he served as associate director of auxiliary services and director of One Card services.

In addition to his auxiliary operations experience on academic campuses, Galutera also has experience in the private sector, having served as corporate marketing manager for the Sticky Fingers Restaurant Group, the release stated.

“The university’s commitment to update services and invest in innovative technology while maintaining personalized connections across campus and within the community resonates with me,” Galutera said in the release. “The programs that Auxiliary Services delivers are essential parts of the high-quality experience students, faculty, staff and the community expect from the university.”

Galutera holds an MBA from The Citadel and undergraduate degrees in Spanish and biology from Furman University. Among his professional achievements are receiving the 2015 National Association of College Auxiliary Services Mereese Ladson Diversity Award and being named one of the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” in 2009.
