Novant Health has welcomed Katy Johnson, a certified physician assistant, to Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine & Convenient Care in Shallotte, according to a news release.

Johnson joined the clinic in January, officials said. She previously worked as a physician assistant in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Johnson is nationally certified with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, stated the release.
 
She earned a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree from Emory University in Atlanta.
