Angel Oak Home Loans has added Kelly Jennings to its Wilmington office, according to the company.

Jennings started his role with Angel Oak as a licensed mortgage adviser in December.

Jennings, a native of Wilmington, transitioned into mortgage lending after a 15-year career in law enforcement.

He is "focusing on helping others achieve their dreams of homeownership and refinancing client’s current mortgages into great rates," officials said.

Jennings became a mortgage adviser after earning his pre-licensing qualifications. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from East Carolina University.

Angel Oak’s lending options include “traditional financing along with a portfolio suite of products for borrowers who fall outside of strict conventional guidelines,” officials said.

The firm, established locally in 2017, has 14 licensed mortgage advisers at the Wilmington office.
