Solar Power World has recognized Cape Fear Solar Systems as part of its national 2020 Top Solar Contractors list, according to a news release.

Cape Fear Solar was ranked No. 1 as "Residential Rooftop Solar Contractor" in Southeastern, North Carolina for the eighth year in a row, officials said. The Wilmington-based solar instillation firm also made the 2020 Top Solar + Storage Installers list.

The Top Solar Contractors list is developed each year by Solar Power World to "honor the work of solar installers big and small," stated the release.

Firms are ranked by the number of kilowatts installed in the previous year and companies are grouped and listed by specific service, according to the release. 

Cape Fear Solar has 23 employees who installed 1,749 kilowatts of solar power in 2019, stated the release. Since its founding in 2007, the company has installed 5,712 kilowatts of solar.

“We are really proud of our installations. We have a highly trained and skilled staff and only use high quality materials," Robert Parker, senior project manager at Cape Fear Solar Systems, said in the release. "We are grateful that our customers continue to recommend us to their friends and neighbors—our business is growing because they trust us with their referrals."
