By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Jan 21, 2020
Lynda Stanley and Elizabeth Wassum have both received certificates in executive nonprofit leadership from Duke University, according to a news release.

Stanley, president of the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation, and Wassum, executive director of the Brunswick Community College Foundation, were sponsored by The Tom and Susan Rabon Charitable Foundation for their enrollment in the program.

“The work of nonprofits is crucial to the survival of our communities. It was an honor to be selected to attend and be sponsored by The Tom and Susan Rabon Charitable Foundation,” Stanley said in the release.

The Duke Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership is a program that offers nonprofit professionals the opportunity to increase their capacity for effective leadership. The program was held in October and attended by 20 nonprofit leaders from around the world, stated the release.

"The exposure to the cohort of other nonprofit professionals, the faculty, and course materials were truly transformational and inspired new ways of thinking about how nonprofit organizations serve as a network of support in our communities,” Wassum said in the release.
