Paul Kennedy has been elected second vice president of the National Conference of State Housing Boards, according to a news release.

Kennedy was elected to the National Conference of State Housing Boards (NCSHB) during the National Council of State Housing Agencies' annual conference in October, stated the release. NCSHB represents housing finance agency boards across the country.

Kennedy, a local retired banker, spent 40 years in executive banking, most recently in Greensboro, officials said.

He also serves on the board of directors of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, a public agency that has financed $23.2 billion in affordable homes and apartments since it was created in 1973, stated the release.
