Margaret “Meg” Blue, a former government auditor, is Pender County’s new finance director, county officials announced recently.

Blue earned her undergraduate degree in accounting and business from University of North Carolina Charlotte and a master’s degree in accounting from University of North Carolina Wilmington.

“We are pleased to welcome Margaret Blue to our Pender County staff,” Randell Woodruff, Pender County manager, said in a news release. “She brings a wealth of experience to the position of finance director.”

Blue comes to Pender County from the accounting firm of Martin Starnes & Associates CPAs, based in Hickory, North Carolina, the release stated.

“Government auditing gives me a big picture overview of operations and I like working from the big picture into the details,” Blue said in the release.
