Wilmington Health Hospitalist Team Welcomes New Provider

Christopher Handera
Christopher Handera has joined Wilmington Health Hospitalist at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s location at 2131 South 17th St., according to a news release.
 
Handera sees acutely ill hospitalized patients and works to coordinate and manage chronic medical conditions together, officials said in the release.
 
“I am honored to join a committed team of providers dedicated to inpatient care of patients at NHRMC,” said Handera in the release. “My goal is to help patients make a safe transition from the hospital to home.”

Handera earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri and received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West Indies.
 
He completed his internal medicine residency at West Virginia University School of Medicine and a one-year fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.
