Custom Wilmington homebuilder, Mark Johnson Custom Homes Inc. has announced the addition of Randy Beard to its construction operations team, according to a news release.

Beard joins the firm as a construction manager and brings more than 40 years of construction management experience, officials said in the release. More than half of his years spent in the industry has been the custom luxury home building market.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Randy on board,” said Mark Johnson, owner of Mark Johnson Custom Homes Inc., in the release. “Randy’s experience working with different architects and designers on complex, luxury custom homes is invaluable."

Among numerous projects, Beard oversaw construction of the N.C. State University chancellor's house at Centennial Campus, during his tenure with a Raleigh builder.

During his time in Raleigh, Randy was the recipient of the General Hugh Shelton Leadership Award, according to the release.

In his new role with Mark Johnson Custom Homes, Beard will manage new home construction projects as well as complex renovations. He will work directly with architects, homeowners, designers and subcontractors.
