A Southport businesswoman has filled a position on the Dosher Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, according to a news release.

Linda Pukenas was approved by the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners to fill a vacant position on the board, officials said in the release. She was nominated by the hospital board for consideration at the Aug. 6 commissioners meeting.

Pukenas is active in civic organizations and the Southport-Oak Island business community, officials said.

She spent most of her career in marketing and community relations in the banking industry.
