Paul Patterson, a partner at Pearson Patterson Smith Wealth Management Group at UBS Financial Services Inc., recently received his Certified Private Wealth Advisor designation, according to a news release.

The Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) certification focuses on solving affluent clients' needs beyond managing a portfolio, and provides the range of specific skills necessary to meet the needs of high net-worth clients, officials said in the release.

Patterson currently serves as first vice president -- Wealth Management and senior portfolio manager within the Portfolio Management Program at UBS Financial Services Inc., officials said.

He also maintains his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation.
