New Board Members Selected For WAHA

The Wilmington Area Hospitality Association has selected new leadership, according to a news release.

The new board members for Wilmington Area Hospitality Association (WAHA) is comprised of front-line professionals who acknowledge that by bringing together representatives from all across the industry, additional opportunities to work together will be created, further enhancing the appeal of Wilmington as a destination, officials said in the release.

“WAHA membership has been growing; our new board is ready to take the organization to the next level,” said WAHA President Nellie Henigin, in the release. 
 
Henigin is reservations/revenue manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront.

WAHA meetings are held at various locations throughout the area, allowing members to become familiar with a broad selection of visitor product. Similarly, various speakers provide pertinent information on area projects, events and programs.

Other 2018-19 board members are:
  • Vice president: Heather Miura, director of sales at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach
  • Secretary: Ashlyn DeHart, group sales manager at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront
  • Treasurer: Joanie DeSantis, area sale manager at Homewood Suites by Hilton Wilmington/Mayfaire
  • Director of membership retention: Lane Leibrock, director of sales, SpringHill Suites Wilmington Mayfaire
  • Director of communications: Taylor England, sales and marketing/assistant manager at Battle House Tactical Laser Tag
  • Director of membership recruitment: Emma Quinnette, sales manager, Wilmington Convention Center
