SunTrust Mortgage Loan Officer Brent Eckhardt was recently presented with an award from the bank.

Eckhardt received the Platinum Sales Performance Excellence Award at a company awards trip held in Florida in late April, according to a news release.

The company-wide Performance Excellence Award program values the contributions of teammates who "consistently go above and beyond in their roles and embody the company’s purpose of lighting the way to financial well-being for clients," officials said in the release.
 
Eckhardt was recognized for his 2017 performance and achievements in sales excellence.

"Having helped over 120 families last year with their new home purchase, Eckhardt once again ranked in the elite top 1 percentile of Loan Officers within SunTrust Mortgage; closing approximately $56 million dollars in production," officials said in the release.
 
During his 15 year tenure with SunTrust Mortgage, Eckhardt has carved out a niche client segment by specializing in the mortgage financing needs of physicians and dentists, which is a specialty product for the company.

He has earned the reputation and distinction of being a doctor loan specialist, not only in the local Wilmington market, but throughout the country, officials said.
