Wilmington-based Vantaca Names CEO, Plans To Add Employees

Wilmington-headquartered Vantaca has named Ben Currin as CEO, according to a news release.

Currin was promoted to his new CEO role July 1, previously serving as COO, a position he's held since 2019.

During his time as COO, officials said Currin led efforts to scale Vantaca's team and business model, and, under his leadership, the firm has achieved an average annual growth rate of nearly 300%. Currin started with the firm as executive vice president in November 2018.

Vantaca, a cloud-based software platform for the community association management industry, was founded in 2017.

"Our primary focus is to improve the Community Association Management industry (HOA industry) through innovative technology and service. Vantaca allows management companies to engage and empower the homeowners and board members they serve like never before," Currin said in an email. "Our team’s unique combination of proven industry expertise and technical acumen allows us to continue providing industry-leading technology solutions."

Dave Sweyer has stepped down from his post as CEO, but continues to have an active role with the firm as an advisor and is the majority owner of Vantaca.

Sweyer, one of the original founders of Vantaca, has led the company from initial startup, working with other founders to develop the product, test the initial solution with early adopters and build out the firm's management team, stated the release.

"Moving forward, my role will be as an advisor to the business, working closely with the leadership team, assisting with key business hires, and providing the financial resources to continue to grow the company exponentially," Sweyer said in an email.

Sweyer (right) said Vantaca continues its fast-paced growth in both new customers and employees.

The company has more than 50 employees, the majority of whom are located at the firm's Wilmington headquarters, and anticipates adding up to 75 employees by the end of this year, he said.

"Our growth strategy generates from our incredible partnership channels and our new outbound sales and marketing teams. The Community Association Management industry is very well connected through industry conferences, training, networking events, and benchmarking groups," Sweyer said in an email. "Vantaca’s goal is to have the best-in-class software for the HOA industry coupled with great customer experience. We will continue to add employees in our primary functional roles of Implementation Consultation, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, and Development."

Vantaca serves nearly 100 management companies nationwide with "over 1 million homes served through the software," stated the release.

“Our growth has exceeded our expectations, which shows that there is tremendous potential for this company. I started a search for a CEO early in the life of the company because I knew Vantaca would need a strong, quality leader to match up with the company’s potential," Sweyer said in the release. “Ben possesses natural leadership instincts and has garnered great respect from both Vantaca team members and our business partners."
