Litify Looks To Downtown Wilmington For New Office

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Jul 20, 2021

Legaltech company Litify has plans to locate its regional office in downtown Wilmington.

The New York-based company is finalizing a lease agreement for its downtown Wilmington office location, company officials said in an email Tuesday.

The business is slated to open the downtown office in the fall, officials said. Company officials said they could not release more details now about where the new office will be downtown.

The majority of Litify employees work remotely, and it already has 12 people currently based out of the Wilmington area, officials said.

On top of its current employees, Litify plans to hire an additional 50 employees in Wilmington over the next 12 months for a variety of functions, ranging from sales to engineering, to build out the Wilmington office, officials said.

Litify announced its hiring plans on Monday, along with plans to open a regional office in Wilmington.

Litify, founded in 2016, operates a platform built on Salesforce.com aimed at law firms, in-house legal departments, government agencies and nonprofits to help manage and streamline their tasks, intakes, documents and client communications.

"In the last 4 years, Wilmington has slowly but surely become a focal point for tech-based companies. With top companies that span across banking and medical, Litify brings to Wilmington a unique opportunity to expand the Legal software footprint. Wilmington is beginning to attract top talent that you would likely only find in major cities like Raleigh, who want to develop the next best technology while enjoying the amenities of coastal living," John Wright, Litify's senior solutions engineer and a Wilmington native, said in an email Tuesday.

"The presence of the No. 1 legal platform will not only entice young tech professionals to the Wilmington area but will encourage and attract legal professionals from all over to open up their own practice here," he added.

Company officials said that some of the additions to their leadership team were people based out of Wilmington, including Natalie Waggert, a former senior sales leader with nCino, as chief revenue officer and Ian Padrick as vice president of alliances.

"We are very excited about our latest expansion into Wilmington, and we are proud to officially be a part of this community," Padrick said in an email. "There is a tremendous opportunity for Litify to further the emerging technology scene here, and we look forward to growing our footprint in this great city."
