A Wilmington-based company has raised $6.4 million in equity, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Tidewater Equity Partners filed the Form D on March 28. The company did not disclose what it intended to do with the proceeds.
Founded in late 2016, Tidewater Equity Partners is an investment firm focused on small company private equity as well as health care venture capital.
Merrette Moore is the managing partner of Tidewater Equity Partners. Moore has more than 20 years of experience working in finance and company management with organizations including UNC Rex Healthcare, Wachovia Corp. and Franklin Street Partners.
Companies relying on a Reg D exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but they must file what’s known as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell securities.
The form can be found here.
