Two Wilmington companies won big at Thursday evening’s N.C. Technology Association (NCTA) Awards in Raleigh.

Banking software company nCino won in the Software Company category, and beverage preference profiling company Next Glass took honors in the Best Consumer Web Company category.

Both companies have seen significant growth in the past couple of years. Earlier this year, nCino moved to larger, permanent quarters in Mayfaire to accommodate its burgeoning workforce and client list. Next Glass will move from its offices in Barclay Commons and its laboratory facilities at University of North Carolina Wilmington’s MARBIONC building into renovated space in downtown Wilmington.

Also at the awards gala Thursday, NCTA honored the companies on its previously announced list of Top Ten North Carolina Startups to Watch. That group included two Wilmington ventures, Koolbridge Solar and Surgilum.

Jim Roberts, who recently founded the Network for Entrepreneurs in Wilmington (NEW) event series for startups and the Wilmington Angels for Local Entrepreneurs (WALE) investor network, was on the awards selection committee.
