School District Makes New Administrative Appointments

New Hanover County Schools has announced new administrative assignments for the 2014-15 school year.
 
Those recently named to new positions, according to a press release, are:
 
Lauren Kefalonitis, currently assistant principal at Codington Elementary School, will serve as principal at Bradley Creek Elementary School for the 2014-15 school year. Before becoming assistant principal, Kefalonitis was a teacher at the Wilmington Academy of Arts and Sciences. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership and a master’s in school administration.
 
Cyndy Bliss (right) is the new principal for Castle Hayne Elementary School for the upcoming school year. Currently assistant principal at Murray Middle School, Bliss has experience teaching middle school science and social studies. She has a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
 
David Bittner is New Hanover High School’s new assistant principal. At present, Bittner is assistant principal at the Brunswick Early College High School. Before becoming an assistant principal, he taught English at Pender and Topsail high schools.
 
Monica Goza, the current principal of Winter Park Elementary School, will retire at the end of November this year.
 
Paul Slovik will be the new principal at Winter Park Elementary School, effective December 1. He now serves as the school's assistant principal. Prior to his current position, he was assistant principal at Gregory Elementary and Bradley Creek Elementary schools. Slovik earned a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
 
Charles Cook will now be the supplemental services supervisor for the district's Maintenance Operations Department. Cook has been the department's project administrator and carpentry foreman.
