CarMax Auto Superstores is hiring 60 employees to fill full-time and part-time positions in its new Wilmington location, according to a news release Tuesday.

Some of the positions CarMax is looking for include automotive repair specialists, detailers, inventory associates, sales specialists and customer specialists. CarMax is offering a bonus of up to $5,000 for automotive technicians and $1,500 for automotive painters based on experience. Many of the other positions do not require experience.

According to the news release, the expected opening date for the new location is September.

The national used-auto retailer purchased land on Market Street in May of last year for $4.5 million. This new location, on 15 acres at 6030 Market St., is CarMax’s first location in Wilmington and 11th location in North Carolina.

CarMax currently has 190 stores in 41 different states. In a previous interview, CarMax spokeswoman Lindsey Duke said they expected to hire approximately 15 to 100 people at the Wilmington location.
