Atlanta-based Retailer Enters Wilmington Market

By J. Elias O'Neal, posted May 7, 2014
A retailer that specializes in the sale of eyeglasses, contact lenses and safety glasses will soon open its first store in the greater Wilmington market.

America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses will soon move into 3,000 square feet of retail space in a unit once occupied by Birkenstock Comfortable Shoe at 344 S. College Road in Wilmington, said Nicholas Silivanch, vice president of retail leasing and acquisition for Wilmington-based Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners and principal leasing agent with Team Silivanch, on Wednesday.

Silivanch represented the landlord during the early May transaction for an undisclosed amount. Roy Crain, a broker with Charlotte-based Atlantic Retail Properties, represented the tenant.

A timeline to upfit and open the new store was not released.

Officials with America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses could not be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.

America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses operates 350 retail locations across the U.S., including five North Carolina locations in metro Charlotte and the Triangle, according to its website.
