Leasing Spree Fills Spaces In Two Counties

By Rachel DeFazio, posted Dec 10, 2010

After leasing nine new venues in the Wilmington area, Cape Fear Commercial Real Estate has had a busy six months.

Beau Rivage Marketplace, located on Carolina Beach Road, recently signed leases with Edward Jones, Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza and a start-up company called The Coastal Roaster.

“We’ve had a couple of deals over the past few months,” said Bryan Greene, senior vice president and broker with Cape Fear Commercial. “There are so many things happening right now.”

As a national chain, Edward Jones, employs one investment advisor in the 1,100-square foot facility and one other representative. Papa Murphy’s, also a national company, leased 1,334 square feet for its Take ‘N’ Bake service, which allows customers to create a pizza onsite and take it home to cook later. Leasing 1,856 square feet, The Coastal Roaster offers bistro-style food, a variety of coffees and homemade gelato.

“They did a marvelous job outfitting that space,” Greene said of the locally owned coffee Coastal Roaster.

“It’s truly an entrepreneurial cafe.” All of these recently leased shops are open for business.

Located on South College Road, Fulton Station Shopping Center recently signed a 1,100-square foot lease with Ron Barber, an Allstate Insurance Co. agent. Slice of Life Pizzeria and Pub is also set to open its 3,000-square foot space around March 1, 2011. Greene represented the shopping center throughout both of these lease agreements.

Moving out to Brunswick County, Cape Fear Commercial just leased four different spaces at Waterford Village. Jersey Mike’s Subs signed a lease for a 1,600-square foot sandwich shop, while Mango Furniture Unlimited opened a 4,280-square foot retail shop.

Leasing a 4,000 square foot facility, DentalWorks Inc., joined the Waterford shopping center, as did Café Sebastiano, which leased 961 square feet. Greene and Spruill Thompson, senior vice president and broker with Cape Fear Commercial represented the landlord for Waterford Village with these leases.
