Front Street Brewery Creates New Taproom From Former Event Space

By Jessica Maurer, posted Jun 2, 2021
Front Street Brewery, Wilmington’s longest established brewery and restaurant with nearly 26 years under its belt, has opened a new top-floor taproom to better accommodate patrons.

The space, formerly known as the Beam Room, was previously used for private events. Now the brewery is making changes based up on the changing landscape caused by COVID-19, that will help them best use the building’s spacious upper level.

“As we open our doors at maximum capacity, we are making a conscious effort to take what we’ve learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and apply that to better accommodate our guests,” said general manager Josh Cranford.

The Tap Room offers communal seating for up to 100 guests in a 3,000-square-foot space.

The brewery has installed a new draft system for the upper-level room, offering all of FSB’s flagship beers, as well as seasonal selections. The taproom will also serve wine and a limited menu featuring six of the restaurant’s award-winning appetizers.

“The Tap Room gives us the ability to utilize our spacious top floor in a way that provides our guests with more efficient dining and drinking options,” Cranford said.

For now, the Tap Room will be open on weekends only, serving guests Friday and Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until around 8 p.m., depending upon demand.

Front Street Brewery is located at 9 N. Front St. in downtown Wilmington.
