Chef Serving Up Another New Restaurant To South Front District

By Jessica Maurer, posted Apr 15, 2021
Chef Bobby Zimmerman, owner of True Blue Butcher & Table at The Forum, announced Thursday that he and his team will be opening True Blue Butcher & Barrel in the fall of 2021.

The restaurant, known simply as Butcher & Barrel, will be located next to New Anthem Beer Project, 110 Greenfield St., in the South Front District.

Butcher & Barrel will stay true to the True Blue brand with an onsite butcher shop, as well as a menu of classic steaks and burgers, served “in a more playful style” according to a news release.

Butcher & Barrel will also feature a full line of bourbons and whiskeys, as well as scotch, cognac, brandies and a variety of other spirits.

Zimmerman announced just last month the launch of another project, Mariposa Tapas Bar, also located at the South Front District and scheduled to open this spring.

While taking on two new projects amid a global pandemic is ambitious, Zimmerman said he is confident that his team can get the job done and he wanted to do everything he can to ensure they have a bright future.

“I want to present them with every opportunity that I can,” Zimmerman said in the release.

Zimmerman said he chose to open both new restaurants at the South Front District because he believes the businesses located there are entrepreneurial, committed to quality and intentional.

He also noted that on his rare day off, he enjoys spending time at Satellite Bar and Lounge at 120 Greenfield St., one of the district’s first establishments.
