At Mayfaire, Five Guys Reopens Following Remodel

By Jessica Maurer, posted Nov 27, 2019
Five Guys at 6801 Parker Farm Drive in Mayfaire Community Center has reopened following an extensive remodel.

Lauren Stein, marketing manager for Stein 5, the franchise group that owns the Mayfaire location as well as 19 others throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, said the store was ready for updates.

“This store has been here a while and was due for new kitchen equipment as well as new paint, new signs and new furniture,” Stein said.

The Mayfaire location was one of the first 100 Five Guys locations to open when the franchise went national.

Founded by the Murrell family in Arlington, Virginia in 1986, the family perfected their simple system throughout the 1980s and 1990s and began offering franchise opportunities in 2003.

Stein 5 took over the Mayfaire location this April as part of a multi-unit expansion. The group was named Five Guys Franchisees of the Year in 2018.

The updates also included a slight change to the layout of the dining area. Stein said there are now a few less seats to allow for more comfortable seating and a better flow of customers.

As for the menu, all the Five Guys favorites remain, with the addition of handspun milkshakes.

Just as with their burgers, guests can add as many free toppings as they like to their milkshakes for the ultimate “create-your-own” experience.

Five guys offers their proprietary milkshake base and 20 toppings, including, of course, bacon.

Five Guys also offers fundraising opportunities to the Wilmington community where they will donate 20% of all sales during a selected time frame to participating organizations. Sign up for Five Guys Community Nights can be completed online.

“We’re very excited to be reopened,” Stein said. “It’s been fun serving the Wilmington community and we’re happy to be back serving them good burgers, shakes and fries.”
