Love Desserts Hosts Fall Dessert Market

By Jessica Maurer, posted Nov 13, 2019
Wilmington’s Fall Dessert Market will be held noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Waterline Brewing Company.

The event is hosted by Love Desserts, the brainchild of owner Katyann Mundy, who created the concept to help small businesses, including bakeries, dessert shops and restaurants, promote their brands within the community.

Based in Charlotte, Mundy hosts markets in Charlotte, Concord, Winston-Salem and Wilmington and plans to expand to additional cities in 2020. The first Wilmington dessert market was held this past spring.

Attendees can shop for desserts from 25 local bakeries and dessert shops, with select bakeries will offering gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free, paleo and keto desserts.

A partial list of participating vendors includes Pink Baking Co., Apple Annie’s Bake Shop, Noonie Doodle Sweets & Treats, Twist & Stout Cakery, Boombalattis, Nothing Bundt Cakes, SpoonFed Kitchen & Bake Shop and Gluten Free By the Sea.

Some bakers will be offering samples, and many will have information on ordering for the holidays.

Mundy said attendees can expect to find cupcakes, cookies, bundt cakes, brownies, pies, fudge, candy, toffee, cannolis and more. There will be a coffee vendor and Waterline Brewery will have cold beverages on tap.

The market is family friendly, dog friendly and wheelchair accessible.
