Lyssa Cakes, a bakeshop that opened at 980 Inspiration Drive at Mayfaire Town Center in September, will host a grand opening celebration Friday through Sunday.

The festivities kick off Friday evening with cupcake decorating from 7 to 8 p.m. Each participant will have the opportunity to decorate four cupcakes for $15. Attendees can choose to follow along with instructions from owner Alyssa Grace on how to make popcorn tub- and ice cream sundae-themed cupcakes or choose their own design. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online.

Saturday kicks off with free cakes for the first 16 people in line when doors open at 10 a.m. Grace said not to worry, however, if you’re not one of the first 16; she has plenty of giveaways and contests planned throughout the day, as well as promotional pricing.  All visitors will receive a free mini cupcake just for stopping in, while supplies last.

On Sunday, Lyssa Cakes will offer free cake pops (one of the new additions to the menu) for children, while supplies last.

With the holidays approaching, Grace said she will be featuring fall and winter flavors such as pumpkin spice, pecan pie, chocolate candy cane, hot chocolate and eggnog. She will have festive cakes and cupcakes, and customers always have the option to create their own cupcakes with a choice of cake flavor, filling, frosting and toppings.

She also plans to have her case stocked with brownies and plenty of holiday cookies.

Custom orders for all baked goods from cookies to celebration cakes are always accepted.

Lyssa Cakes is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
