Mike Davis is bringing more than 25 years of restaurant industry experience to the table at Courtyard Grill, his newly opened restaurant at the Courtyard at Masonboro.
The former Halligan’s Public House location has been transformed to a lighter, brighter gathering space with new flooring, paint and fixtures throughout.
Davis, who most recently served as general manager for two Buffalo Wild Wings locations in the Myrtle Beach area, said he felt it was time for him to take the leap and open his own restaurant.
“I heard of the availability of this location from a friend and felt it was an ideal opportunity,” Davis said.
Courtyard Grill’s menu focuses on what Davis refers to as “elevated bar food.”
“We’ve taken a lot of bar food favorites and by using the best possible ingredients, taken them up a level,” Davis said. “So far the response to both the updates to the building and the food have been very positive.”
The menu offers a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and tacos.
Davis opened the restaurant quietly Sept. 19, stating that he wanted to iron out the kinks and make sure his staff was up to speed and all was running smoothly before the crowds hit.
“So many people in the neighborhood have been so anxious for us to open,” Davis said. “I wanted to make sure we were doing things right from the start.”
Courtyard Grill has a full-service interior bar and another bar serving just wine and beer on the patio. He has installed a large awning that covers the bar as well as the majority of the courtyard tables. Customers will find 12 beers on tap, with a rotating selection of seasonal and local drafts, as well as a diverse offering of cans and bottles.
Courtyard Grill is at 3317 Masonboro Loop Road and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
