El Cazador of Carolina Beach is meeting the demands of Carolina Beach’s growing culinary and bar scene by adding a cantina to the existing restaurant. Co-owners Diego Garcia and Agustin Alvarez describe the cantina as an additional bar space, where food will also be available.

“The beach is getting busy and a lot of people are asking to sit in the bar,” said Diego Garcia.

The cantina is located alongside the restaurant, occupying the space that previously housed Frozen Lime frozen yogurt. It’s accessible from inside the restaurant, and will also be used as a space for customers to have a drink while waiting for a table during peak hours.

The 20-seat bar offers 10 beers on draft, mostly Mexican imports, with a few local brews. Garcia said cocktails will also be served and his staff is currently working on a summer cocktail menu.

The cantina was designed by Josue Rivera, a friend of Garcia and Alvarez, and contains many rustic and artistic elements that create an atmosphere of a Mexican beach bar.

Having been in business for over 10 years now in Carolina Beach, with a sister restaurant in Fayetteville that has been family-operated for over 50 years, El Cazador’s owners say they pride themselves on serving the highest quality ingredients and providing great customer service.
