The owners of two popular area Mexican restaurants are bringing Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken to New Pointe Boulevard in Leland. Papi’s Chicken, a fast-casual concept that will seat 110 guests, is scheduled to open sometime next week.

The restaurant is owned by the Zaragoza brothers, Alex, Eddie and Oscar. Alex Zaragoza also owns Si! Señor Modern Mex at Bayshore Commons in Porters Neck, while Oscar Zaragoza owns San Felipe Mexican Restaurant, also located on New Pointe Boulevard in Leland.

The Papi’s menu will include quarter, half and whole charbroiled chickens, each served with two sides, as well as a family meal deal with two whole chickens, four large sides and a 2-liter of soda for $40. There are more than 15 sides (some pictured below) to choose from, including arroz chaufa fried rice, hand-cut French fries or yuca fries, street corn salad, Inca pork beans, plantains, tostones and avocado or chipotle slaw.

There are several made-to-order items on the menu featuring rice with steak or chicken and a variety of vegetables and sauces, as well as corvina ceviche, quesadillas and hand-made savory turnovers.

Papi’s will serve aguas frescas such as horchata and herbal lemonade and three beers on draft. For dessert, the menu will offer tres leche cake, alfajores and dulce de leche turnovers.

“We are excited to be opening our first location and to be a part of the local Leland community. We hope everyone will pay us a visit and stop by to try our delicious Peruvian rotisserie chicken and sides,” Alex Zaragoza said.

Papi’s Chicken is located at 1108 New Pointe Blvd, Suite 140 in Leland and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
